Are there some kind of checkpoints or something like that in the game? I started playing today and died several times in the level with those two green globs that spit fire.

Each time I had to restart the game at the beginning and go through each level again (also the conversation with the hooded clones).

Is that how it's supposed to go or can I restart the game at a later point?

no, you can't save. there are no checkpoints.

but don't worry, you'll get better as time goes on. you'll be surprised, in a month, how far you've gotten compared to now.

You don't have to go through that door. The door is a parallel dimension and is harder than the other levels. You may want to read the "FAQ for new players" thread. It will help you during your quest.

Hmm that first door, is easy I do it every time, for the 2 Yellow Crystal and 1 Green

Yes, it is an easy PD and good for newbies to get a good idea of PDs. If you want more of a challenge, do PD 11/13 and PD 26.

So you'd have to play for hours at one go to get really deep into the caverns?

Reminds me of the old games in the 80's and early 90's... And while it was fun in those days today I prefer being able to have at least checkpoints. Or even better, quicksave.

Seems like this just isn't my kind of game.

well, if you like once-a-day strategy games, try the other MT games.

like dinoparc. or dinorpg. or mybrute. stuff like that

And if you don't mind leaving your Internet up, you can always pause the game and minimize it for later

actually, like Joe said, you can leave the internet, just make sure to have internet again when you finish
