You can read about the keys in "FAQ for new players" thread.

I don't think we can give you much advice about how to clear the game. You have to play, gain experience in the game and get further with more playing. I guess all the advice we can give you is - don't go in the parallel dimensions (except the one that opens at level 3 and level 6) before you start reaching level 50 without dying and reach level 80-90, to get used to the enemies till there.
