I'm not cheeky. It may be obvious for you, but many people are not that experienced with mIRC and doesn't know how to use it properly. And it may seem different for people who doesn't know. And BTW I always thought that "quakenet" is "irc.quakenet.org". Mind if you explain?

Yes when we talk about quakenet or quake.net we are talking about irc.quakenet.org. But normaly we dont use irc.quakenet.org becose thats just one host address what you can use to join to QUAKEnet.
Just like you can use different hosts to join IRCnet or EFNet. Thats why i dont use irc.quakenet.org when im talking about QUAKEnet becose that address dont work on all regions. Like mIRC aint the only program what you can use (if you are new to IRC you should try mIRC www.mirc.com becose its easy & free to use.)

But know when everybody know that QUAKEnet & QUAKE.net means same thing we can keep helping people to join there.
