As someone else already said, the big crystals are NOT random, and do indeed depend on the order you kill the enemies in.
I would give you a level-by-level guide, but obviously I can't remember each level off by heart, and it hardly gives enough time to write anything during the level, so i'll do what I can

Firstly, on all levels 2-10 you should stall for time and get all the pickups the level offers before you kill all the enemies.

Secondly, collecting the CRISTAL letters in the CORRECT ORDER i.e. C then R then I etc., gives you a bonus of 150K POINTS. This is much harder to do than it sounds.

Thirdly, onto the 0-10 level guide.

Level 0-Go to the very top left hand platform, jump around a bit and a coin should appear. DO NOT blow up the well, instead jump down and hold the Left arrow down, and you will enter a secret passage.

Level 1-If you have done it right, various crystals should fall with you. Do what you can to get as many as possible, I myself can never get the red one.

Level 2- Havn't found anything worth noting

Level 3- In the top right area jump around for a coin

Level 4- Kill the CHERRY first, and then the orange. This will give a green 10k point crystal

Level 5-Kill the TOP orange first. This is harder than it looks, as a lot of the time it bashes into the other one on the way down.

Level 6- Kill the cherry within the enclosed shape first. This is best done by getting the blue bomb, jumping inside and placing a bomb on the far left of the enclosed shape. The cherry should then fall into the hole.

Level 7- Kill the tomato which starts higher up first.

8-Firstly, jump down and get the orange killed. Then, remember which tomato started in the top RIGHT, and kill this one. Leave the top LEFT tomato to kill last. If you get it right, a red crystal worth about 22k should be yours. Also, jumping around over the two ll shape blocks inside the enclosed area gives you a coin.

9- I have never gotten anything from this no matter what order i try, so can't help here sorry.

10-It's pretty easy to kill them all in one shot, however there is an order which grants you a good crystal. I've done it once but I can't remember which order they died in, sorrrrry.


So, hope this helps, and maybe i'll do a level 11-20 guide soon .

One last tip, on level 16, there is a way to get a giant orange crystal worth neary 100K POINTS on itsself. I've done this ONCE before, and all I know is that the top cherry died last.

One thing to note is that the value of the big crystal is proportionate to the amount of enemies.

The values of the small crystals have values of:

1 Enemy: 500p
2 Enemies: 2000p
3 Enemies: 4500p
4 Enemies: 8000p
5 Enemies: 12500p
...

Which is defined by the recurrance relation:
P(0) = 0
P(N) = P(N-1) + 1000N-500

Or, to put it simpler, the point difference between N enemies and N-1 enemies is 1000 times the amount of enemies killed minus 500 points.

To get the values of the big crystals, just multiply by 5. Note that it's not possible to get a big crystal with only 1 enemy.

Level 9 is top, middle, bottom. It's just exceptionally hard to kill off the top one without killing either of the two lower ones.

I have a question:
How come i havn't had any better gems after completing the Master Jeweler quest? It says new better gems will be availiable, but after loads more games i still havn't found any.

Wrong gems... It allows you to find and a blue version, which give 5000, 15000, and 25000 points respectively. They're random drops.

But those were collected FOR the quest.

Effect: "Igor has become an expert in precious stones. Now his knowledge permits him to discover precious stones which are even more powerful!"

Surely this means there should be different ones, not just the ones used in the quest?

aye.. it should, maybe theres something else after we get another quest or something :s

found 2 more gem combos.. both quite hard to do

Level 12 - Cherry (middle), Orange(bottom) then Tomato(top) for a 22k red gem.. recommend going and getting the blue bombs right away to get the cherry without killing the others

Level 13 - Orange (bottom), Cherry (top left), Cherry(last remaining), Tomato.. for a 40k yellow, but really difficult cos getting the cherries dead without killing the tomato. Managed to do it a few times by getting the orange first, then getting both the cherries down to where the tomato is, and killing both of the cherries with the tomato

Has anyone managed/tried to get CRISTAL backwards yet? or in a pattern like CLRAITS.. had all but the C going backwards last night

CRISTAL backwards does nothing lol.. was worth a try tho

I've only once been able to get them in the right order because the letters I don't want keep spawning right where I step :/
