In Italy it is pronunced like "Egor", but I think that the official pronunce should be like "Egòr" since the game is French ;)

I've heard this name many times before, because this is the name of the mad scientist's assistant in Frankenstein ... Not sure how popular Frankenstein is outside of the USA.

It is essentially a matter of personal preference.
