False. But, I think it's too long. (I need 2 more banana peels, but I keep seeing them in places I don't want to risk them making me fall to my death.)

@30191: I know. But, as well as you speak English here, I was sure it was your native language. ;)

The next poster thought 30191's native language was English, too.

Nope, cause i remember reading somewhere that he's from Deutschland, so I assumed that would be what he knows :P

The next poster knows why people from the Netherlands are called Dutch

No, but you certainly want to explain ;) Maybe because they are not "deutsch", but quite close and the english people can't distinguish between them? :P

@John: Thank you :) I have always been quite good in english at school :P But I'm not a native speaker.

The next poster also wants to know why people from the Netherlands are called Dutch ;)

Nah, cause I already know :P

When Englishmen first encountered Dutch sailors, they mistook them for Germans, so they called them Deutsch (which is German in German). Over time, Deutsch was corrupted into Dutch. :)

The next poster knew that. :o

Obviously not, but I am not really surprised; it had to be something like that ;)

The next poster has never heard of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach :keepcool: (no, I am not talking about JS Bach)

and indeed, english is a foreign language here as well, even though i'm quite common with it (as quite a lot people here are) but it still is a foreign language,, i am able to easily look at movies without subtitles though, and all of my lectures and books are in english..

the next poster thinks i'm the only active dutch player here

I can't really say you're the only one, there must be another one at least :D

And for those who wandered, yes I'm Portuguese ;) And it's quite common that you think that Spanish and Portuguese are the same, but you'll see that our literature it's quite more complex (those who know who Luís de Camões is will understand :!:)

And here we consider English as our second language (Spanish doesn't count, as we can understand it quite well ;) )

Just another thing, Brazilian and Portuguese are the same when it comes to dictionary, they just pronounce the words differently, but they're the same ;)

The next poster is also Portuguese and knows that is quite annoying to be mistaken by a Spanish talker :P

No, but one of my MSN friends is from Brazil, and he gets annoyed whenever I say something in Spanish (i.e. when I forget he's Portuguese :P)

The next poster is PrimoDang.

No.

I know that spanish and portuguese are different languages, but if I see only one word like your name, they are hard to distinguish ;)

The next poster thinks that Austrian and Australian should be regarded as languages, not as dialects :D
