True. After I died in one of the levels of that big orange planet you can go early in the game I would start every other game with zero lives, so anything would kill me.

A: You are out of ESCorp’s “newbie protection”, so to speak. That means that your emergency envelopes, aka your extra lives, got taken away from you. Do not worry, you will find more extra lives as you progress the game, 2 of which are possible to get very early (one automatically obtained a few levels after you complete the Distress Call mission, another is buyable at an in-game shop for a rather small amount of minerals).
