I have been playing this game for quite a while now, but have been focusing on getting to higher levels and getting points. What order should I approach the extra stuff like "book of stars" (I don't know where that is found) and the keys? I am currently trying to get the wooden key but its pretty tough.

I'd say focus on beating Tuber first. Do that until you can make it to him a good solid majority of the time. Once you're there, then do the PDs for the keys and controllers and such. In general, the PDs are much harder than the regular levels, so until you're decent playing the harder levels (i.e. 90's) you'll probably lose a ton of lives in the PDs containing the keys/controllers.

If you see the book of stars (random point item, it's not in any one place) GET IT. Same with book of mushrooms, or any other coeff 5 that comes your way.

Thanks. That was very helpful. I'll have to work on getting farther than level 46 now that I've done that about 30 times to try for the wooden key

And - just to stress what Joe said: the Book of Stars is a random item, so it is not found in a special place Good luck!

Also it's an effect item, not a points item.
