My suggestion: First, get blue bombs (if you want them ... it's personal preference). Then, wait at the bottom. Kill the lower lemon and, when the bananas come down to you, kill them. Then you only have two enemies left. Make sure you don't drop the upper lemon into the cubby in the right wall, and you should be fine.

I rarely die on level 36. In fact, I get a large purple crystal maybe 20% of the time. My usual route:

1) Immediately head for the top lemon, passing through the blue line along the way. Stop just before touching the lemon and kick a blue bomb past him, so that it explodes to his left. Right after kicking, drop to the lower level and again kick a bomb to the left of the lemon. The lemon should land on top of the box (if you're not unlucky), on the second-to-last level, or the very bottom level (if you're really lucky).

2) Fall through the right chute and land inside the box. If the lemon is on top of the box, explode a bomb to his right (safer if you have up-kick, but ok if you don't because the lemon should still be stunned).

3) Jump down to the bottom area. Attempt to get all three fruits onto the lowest level, then eliminate all three with one blue bomb. If a good points item appears, you can stop what you're doing and jump up to get it.

4) Pursue the two remaining fruits, trying not to kill the banana until the orange is dead. Best if you can knock the orange into the void at the left of the screen; but that usually doesn't work. More likely, it will fall to the center-bottom area. Keep knocking it down one level at a time until falls off the screen.

5) If the last banana has been following you, try to keep it on the same level as the orange and kill both with the same bomb. If not, hunt it down and kill it the same way as the orange. Remember that bananas (unlike the other fruits you've met) can jump down from ledges; so there's no need to follow it into the enclosed boxes, especially after the first "Hurry Up" has appeared.

I actually prefer falling through the right chute rather than the center upon finishing the level to avoid landing on top of banana #1 in the next level, or getting trapped by him. Note that in level 37, you cannot jump over the __| shape at the top of the screen to escape the lemon.
