How do you get so many Lives?

Right, basically, i look on Youtube, and there's people with like 8 lives at the START!!! I got another account on French Version and i used 71 goes on this account, 231 goes on my Fr. one, but i cant get above 5 lives!

Any suggestions?

well, there's the 103 (2)104 (3) and 105 (4) quests, the golden statues (5) and getting the carrot (6).

that's all I know of.
