QUESTION: What level in the normal mode would you guys find comparable to PD 46-which is my first real key level, and which is now currently im-frickin-possible for me? If the general consensus among the high rollers is, "PD 46 is like the 90s levels", then I'll just forget about trying to beat PD 46 for a while and just concentrate on beating normal levels, maybe even beating Tuber, before I try for the first big key at PD46.8. FYI: I average in the 50s-60s, slightly over a million points, for the majority of my games.

well, you have up-kick which is a big plus. I don't know how many lives you have left at level 46? For the comparison, i think maybe like later 60's / 70's? the first level of 46 is in my opinion by far the hardest level, the rest isn't so bad.. if you have been through the first level a couple of times you'll be able to get i think i'd give it a go

There are a few other unfriendly levels after the first one. This first level is just made similar to 62 - many fruits, I'd call it definitely harder than 62 though.
For the rest... late 60s/70s are a good guess, I'd say. If I had not read piet's answer, I would have written 70s.

I think PD46 is like the 70s. The first levels has a lot of enemies and you have to kill them one by one with a blue bomb, which is slow. Most of the time you will die because of the fireball. The next levels are not that hard (have only few enemies), but they may be a bit tricky if you don't have enough Igor-control. The last level makes you deal with blue bomb, lot of enemies (and razors) so you will usually die there at least once (fireball). If you are carefull you can pass it with 2 extra lives, but I advice you to have at least 6 when you go there. And true - Upkick makes the PD A LOT more easier.
