@zax: I think by "one extra life" he means one visible cone. (So you die and you still have one more chance.) "One extra life" does not mean

... that would be just a regular game.

And how about winning the extra life and then immediately killing oneself? Sometimes it can be better...

just take pictures of every 5 or 10 levels and at the end take a picture of the progress you made ( a.k.a. button "C") then we'll be able to see how many times the player died and how many times he had collected ( about the lives from points - at the last picture we'll see how many points the player has and see how many lives he has got through the game and all that he lost and do the math.... if it goes more than one than he is a cheater and if it fits he is the champ ) How about that?

So I can have one cone... play play play die... play play play ... and continue to play without having to kill myself, because it's still "one extra life"? Which means I can play a lot of extra lives, but they must not stack... (epic fail if you get a )

P.S. Can I play tornade mode?

Actually, if you should avoid all extra lives, you couldn't reach more than 99999 points - which would not even be too hard to reach (PD97)

you can get an extra life, you just have to die immediately after that so in the game there will be several moments where you have 2 lifes for at most 5 seconds

My normal game is play until I die once. Furthest level: 77

Actually, dying the instant you get an extra life could have its advantages, considering you could do things like, say, save up points until a level that's tough and then get points right when the fireball comes or something like that. Not to mention how much easier later levels are when you have less lives, since the fireball comes so much later. Like the thought though.
