Question about the translation: Is "glad sticks" really a good translation for the family? (I mean the family of these items). My dictionary (I'm German) says that "joystick" is a good translation, but it doesn't know the expression "glad stick" - to me, "glad sticks" sounds quite weird...

Could also call them gamepads, or game controllers. But yeah, between the two, joysticks is the proper term.

I would call it gamepad, because game controller seems more like the superordinate for joystick and gamepad.
