HF on notebooks

Pyramid level: 1 53
Wednesday 07 Jul 2010 22:30
Hi folks

I usually play HF on my desktop, however, this days I try my notebook. 1207

My CPU usage was 20% or less, but since I started HF the CPU goes to 100% causing LAG a lot.

Just for curiosity I try other notebook (from the job) and the result was pretty much the same. 1179

So... anyone has more data about this situation?

I have played on a Mini laptop . It's very hard to get level 50 and the lag is BIG.

It happens just the reverse to me: when I play on the desktop it lags a lot and when I play on a notebook it lags only from time to time. 8O

I only play on a notebook and it works perfecly, while my old desktop was pretty much unable to get above 10 fps in the 60s. But that was a really old one - I think maybe your desktop pc is just "better" than your notebook, which I would consider normal if they are about the same age.

Desktop, P4-2000 / 512 / GF5500 : 25-30 fps with few enemies/items, 15-20 fps with lot of them.
Notebook, CDuo-1.6 / 1024 / X200M : 35-40 fps with few enemies/items, 25-30 fps with lot of them.

asathler, can you give us your notebook and desktop specifications? It is something normal to have bad game experience if your pc/notebook is old or with little CPU frequency, RAM, Video card...

Hum... it's strange, very strange!

Desktop 1:
Intel core 2 duo, 1,86Ghz, 2Gb ram, 1024cache, no video card device. Win XP. NO LAG!

Desktop 2:
AMD 3.0 64bit, 1Gb ram, 1024cache, Radeon 9600 Pro. Win 7 Ult. NO LAG!

Notebook 1:
HP AMD Turion II, 4Gb ram, 1024cache, no video card device. Win XP. FEW LAG.

Notebook 2:
Dell Vostro 1000, AMD Sempron 3500+ 1.8GHz 512Kcache, 1Gb ram, ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB video card, Win Vista Bus. HUGE LAG!

Notebook 2 is my real problem with lag in HF. Normally I use one of my desktops, but when I try notebook... everything goes crazy. FPS and cpu usage go high!

hehehe.
Windows vista business edition.

I will on my next weekend try some tools to verify performance and others configs to a better solution.
