Those are some pretty sweet unlockables, ANS1.

And woohoo! New record! I made it to 54.11. Would've cleared it, too, if I hadn't been surprised by those spikes between the oranges... and then fallen off the screen after beating all but one enemy. XD

Surprisingly, this Hell place keeps getting more fun.

Sorry to double-post, but I just had a very nearly perfect game. Took the first items/points run I've had for a while, visiting PDs 3, 6, 11, 15, 25, 43, 51, 64, and 72:

19: 3rd Tuber's Bag! Lasted 'til 43.4.
(Funny thing: I'm pretty sure I found all three of those since I last saw a Big Unemployment -- of which I still need several.)
44: Accidental Giant Purple
58: Hazelnut Chocolate
64.5: Unlocked !
65: Accidental Giant Black
72.2.2: Pocket Guu
101: Sooo clooose to beating Tuber! But I got overexcited and couldn't concentrate.

I wasn't even expecting to make it that far on a points run. I really would have made it if I hadn't gone back for the mirror in 97.0 this time. XD But even so...

Today, i got 2 's, in sequential levels! And that was after i sucessfully got my woden master key. I'm seventh now, but i doubt i'll stay within the top 10 (or is it 100... Forgot)

It looks like I won't quite be in the top ten as soon as they update with vsyourwife's score. Alas, the 100K from the would have made a difference. But there's always time to get better and try again!

I'm not quite that ambitious. XD This was actually my break from Nightmare Mode.

Have you tried it yet, Nemo? I think you'll be impressed at how much easier Normal Mode seems after a few Nightmare runs.

I tried NM mode once, in the game right after I beat Tuber. I died far more than I would have liked to, and GO'd at 70 despite not entering any PD's. (In the game after that, I tried PD0, and GO'd on the second level. ) Since then, I've been sticking to Normal mode, because I want to get up-kick already, and I'll obviously be able to cover a lot more levels when they aren't devilishly fast. Just three more potions, and then I honestly can't decide what I'll do. The options are limitless. I think I'll stick to Normal at least until I unblock all the PD prizes available to me. Should I unblock Tuber's artifacts (i.e. beat him nine more times) before I try for the Nightmare Key ?

Ah yes. Surviving more levels = collecting more potions, that's for sure.

That's what I had planned do, since I'd gotten the idea that the Nightmare Key replaces the Tuber's Key. But! It turns out that you get the Nightmare Key in addition to all the other Tuber treasures, not instead of them. So it would technically be more efficient to beat him ten more times in Nightmare Mode, instead of nine more times in Normal and then ten more times in Nightmare.

I guess it depends on whether you find Nightmare Mode to be an interesting challenge, or just headache-inducing. (Personally, I still can't tell.) You should do whatever keeps the game fun for you.

I have a headache at the moment, so the thought of doing pretty much anything seems headache-inducing. But judging from what I thought of it when I played it, I think NM mode will be fun indeed ... and if I will have to do it ten times eventually anyway, why not speed up the process a bit ? Double whammy. Thanks for the tip.
