Just keep hitting the Bold button 'till at least one line gets full of [[g]/g]'s. Well, just clicking it 4 times is enough, because that's enough to get over the 30 character minimum. (Each [g][/g] adds 7 characters.)
the quote button creates that blue bar on the side. as far as i know, 'on the side' is not the same as 'under' anyway, there's nothing more that appears if you use quote instead of bold tags
