Negative points?

Pyramid level: 2 476

I tried playing in two-player mode for the first time today, just to see what it was like.

Bizarrely, the game ended with me having -1 points and 0 ranking, according to the end game screen (quite different from the rank 174 on the 3rd level that I'm seeing above my message while typing this).

What causes negative points to be displayed at the end? I was in a PD at the time the game ended... um, PD 11 I think. On the level with the strawberry, tomato, and watermelon, with two places to fall through a rainbow of different bomb colors.

its because two player wont go to the ranking just the items will be saved no matter where you die ^

Two player mode doesn't count to ranking. Items you get there will save but level and points records not. But why '-1' I don't have any idea :)

Thanks.

It's confusing. But I'll learn with more experience.

it shows -1 so that you know that it's not a bug not to count your score.

Usually -1 is used at programming language to show that executing is stopped. I might remember wrong, but integer variable usually counts positive natural numbers, but not negative numbers. That's why negative number (usually -1) is used to explain for the program code that executing the code has been stopped.

At this point -1 means that counting of the points have been stopped, but somehow there is no value for this variable, so it returns it's exit-value, which is in this case -1. It's like you wrote in C++
"if game ends
then return EXIT_SUCCESS[value]
value='-1'"

I just don't get why there hasn't been coded any message. It would be a lot simplier to return e.g. a sentence like "two player games points' are not recorded in the ranking, althought you can keep all the items you found from the caverns".
