I think they're apples, and they shoot appleseeds. They remind me of attack of the killer tomatoes though. Anyone remember that show??

Ah I remember that show! Yeah I believe they're tomatoes. And here's a terrible thing to discover - if you collect one of the crystal balls that clears the enemies from the screen and gives you 30 seconds to grab crystals for a 50,000pts bonus, the seed that the tomatoes shoot at you (or the juice the lemon shoots at you) does NOT disappear and can still kill you even though the enemies are gone. I have found this out the crappy way. If this happens the game sort of hiccups, and not all the crystals for the little bonus stage appear so you can't even get the 50k bonus if you collect all the ones that do appear. Isn't that awful?!

There's also another glitch where on a level i collected the last letter I needed for CRISTAL while the fireball was chasing me. The fireball disappeared and I jumped down, but a new fireball instantly appeared and killed me >_>
