When I read this, I thought of Igor throwing a giant white bomb at your account.

That gave me such an LOL fit my parents got worried. XD

I wish that sort of serendipity had happened when I found my first evil liquor...

Unless I am really lucky, I always lose a life on 72.4, without fail. Fact: At one time or another, (unless you get a helpful effect item), you must enter through the center column to get the blue bombs.

This typically leads to one of three results:
1) I land on a spike because I am not perfectly centered (this is the most common, and the most frustrating);
2) I land on a lemon, or run into a lemon shortly after landing, because there are too many in the area and not enough room for Igor to move around;
or 3) I get hit by a lemon drop.

Any suggestions ?

Touch the bomb-changer, enter the teleporter, and throw a green bomb into the nearest group of lemons from the ledge. Drop down and plant a white bomb next to the leftmost surviving lemon, so that it goes off just as they're all unfreezing. It will slam all the rest, leaving you with only one fruit to manage.

I still haven't figured out how to solve the "not perfectly centered" problem, but that should at least reduce the lemon-related hazards.

Unrelatedly, what does the "G" in the Hell level numbers stand for? (54.12.1G.etc.)

If you end up at a fork in the road, with two portals, if you go through the left one, you'll go to #G, and if you go through the right one, techinically, #D, although most people just use #.

This is because in French, left = Gauche and right = Droie.
