This a noob question, sorry. But I am a noob, after all. What does the Igor and Cortex quest do? I am debating whether to sacrifice a few games to complete the quest.

1. This quest makes weird gadgets appear through the game... I'm not so sure what are these, but one of the good players who has them unblocked can show you them and explain what do they do.
2. What do you mean by "sacrifice"??? I mean you should anyway take the items for unblocking them and I think sacrificing some lives for a quest or for unblocking items is totally worth it!

These are the items Igor and Cortex can give you. They give you very many points (25,000-50,000), but nothing else

The part about "sacrificing games" doesn't sound logical to me neither...

Some of the items such as the red glasses guarantee an almost certain death.

Yes, some items are dangerous; but theoretically you can survive any item

If you see the glasses you can kill the enemies fast and then take them. Or you can take the glasses and wait in a safe place for the effect to wear off. This way you won't die. And you don't have to take them if you think that you may die. You just wait for them to appear again.

wears off but you will get hit by the fireball when it does.

If you have less then 10 lives the fireball will not appear before it wears off. If you have 10-15 lives and you take it right after it shows up - same. If you take it just before it disappears then you may be worried juuuuust a little. But if you wait that much you should have killed most of the enemies so killing 1 fruit when the fireball is there is not always that hard. And still - you can kill all the fruits, then take the glasses and go to the next level.
