3.6Million in tier 2?

Pyramid level: 1 133
Monday 16 Mar 2009 12:38
My previous highest score was 1,991,000 (roughly) until I had a run today that scored me 2.4mil. I was suprised (pleasently) to see i'd hit position 2 in this portion of the pyramid. Now this isn't a complaint but... bloody hell! 3.6million as the top score going into tier 1? I don't even understand how you get those scores! I can't imagine how much effort you have to put into getting the big crystals on the lower levels. I'm assuming it's easier with the book of stars quests done but still.

Level 84 was my reached level. What paralell dimensions do people go into to get bigger scores? I only use 3, 11 and 55. Any advice would be welcome.

(this is my 3rd week ... don't mock me for being a newbie)

PD 26 is not too difficult - you can try it.

Aside from that... just play until you get higher scores. Level 92 has a very easy PD, but doesn't give many points... Similar to PD 6, which is not too good^^

And try to get the big crystals in levels 54 and 56 - they are not difficult to get and give you 90k points each.

I don't know if that idea is too good - you could try PD 72. I haven't been there too often; it's not easy, but I think it's also not too difficult. If you want to go for points, you can use it. But beating Tuber will certainly give more points^^

Good luck!

I got the big crstals in both 54 and 56 :) I don't normally get it in 56 but it wasn't too hard this time. Just takes patience. I always get 54 though. That's a free 135k points :p

And perfect! I didn't even notice the PD on 26. I never get the big crystal except with luck on 27 and 28 so i'll do these instead. Much appretiated :)

Thanks ^^

I highly recommend 43's parallel dimension which are relatively easy levels with decent drops, plus a key if you make it all the way to the end. Additionally, if you can make it through 51's levels you can get some nice bonuses.

And as an extra bonus, you should never pass up level 16's bonus. 110k for avoiding a fireball and collecting some coins! very nice I thought. If you want the locations of the portals you can look them up because I don't like to give out the information in case you're itching to find it on your own (though I find most of them are fairly obvious anyway, just look for that area that seems different. Works most of the time).

One thing I would say though, always try hardest for just finishing the game. Occasionally if you're feeling up to it, try a portal you've never gone into. I recently pulled down the wooden master key AND the frozen key by doing that. Good stuff, says I. And of course, keep on getting your 1191 !

Yeah... I'm suprised I omitted 6 and 16. Of course I go into those each run. I want the rusty key so i can get that 175k each run too. I'll have a look at those runs too. Obviously I want to eventually finish everything but it's unlikely. I'm just working on HoF atm. Then i'll keep going on to get all the keys and that jazz.

(sorry for double post)

I've done 43. I lose too many lives at the moment doing it so maybe i'll omit it for now. I've gone through it (only tried it once) and got the gamer pad at the end. I'll filter it into my runs at some point when i'm a bit better at jumping around and shit :)

I'm doing a run now and i'm going to go after the WMK. Wish me luck ;)

1023 and why are these called taffy? That's a derogatory term for a Welshman XD Did they mean toffee?

Taffy is an american soft candy... hard to explain if you don't know what it is already, but trust me on this.

 I don't go in : the 15's parallel dimension is much better than the 16's :
15.0 : 90 k
15.1 : 62.5 k
15.2 : 62.5 k (easy)
15.3 : 62.5 k (hard)
15.4 : 160 k (quite practicable with the blue bomb)
15.5 : too hard
15.6 : 160 k (hard)
15.7 : 90 k (easy)
15.8 : 122.5 k
15.9 to 15.12 : too hard
total for this dimension : at least 500 k !
So I prefer pass up the 16's.

I go into : 3-11-15-43-51-55-64-72

He speaks! He breathes! I've never tried PD15 mostly because I haven't got the WM key yet. I'll give it a look once i've got it though. :)

why don't you do the PDs on 25 and 26 out of interest?

Hmm, I haven't gotten good enough at the 15 levels to get the bonuses, but I since I got the master key I've been doing them exclusively. I usually die once or maybe twice there, it's fairly easy but I haven't learned any of the patterns yet.

The path to get the wooden master key I think is actually harder than the actual area it unlocks. Silliness, but then you get the frost key which is also easier than that area. Or at least as far as I had gone, since I had only 2 lives left when I got there. I'll unlock that thing before I know it, even though I'm still mainly focusing on finishing the game completely.

25 : I haven't got the key :(
26 : not enough points (you miss 2 x 40 k at 27 & 28)
