Interestingly enough, there is an item in Kirby Super Star Ultra found in the mode "The Great Cave Offensive", which looks very similar to "Tuber's Cape" from Hammerfest.

I'm actually surprized Motion-twin hasn't been sued by the different gaming companies for the use of various elements from them (ie. the gamepads, "mario mode", the Sonic landscape in PD 62, etc.)

I guess they got premission beforehand?

Possibly France has different copyright laws? Not sure how the jurisdiction with that would work, just a guess.

Well, the current copyright laws are draconian. I'd gladly support any company that "violates" them.

It actually appears that Nintendo is borrowing from Motion-Twin. Even the room it's in is like Hammerfest.

I'm going to try and obtain screenshots of the item itself, and the room it is in, so you can compare.

That reminded me of my copy of Kirby Super Star from the SNES.

Doesn't look like Tuber's cape.
