Well, over the last few weeks, I've been thinking. Why don't we have a tournament to determine who is the Champion of Hammerfest?

I've thought up some ideas, and would like some input. Basically, my idea was to offer a place for people who have reached the HOF to see how they rank on a weekly basis, paired up against a single opponant. Of course, we could allow people who are still trying to get into the HOF into the tournament, with or without a seperate division. The winner would move on, and the loser would be eliminated, until only a single champion remains. Then, of course, we would start again (possibly with different requirements, such as Nightmare Mode only).

What do people think? This will only work if we can get enough people to sign up, and I think it might be a cool idea.

I'd like to participate, but honestly I have too much interest in completing quests and investigating areas right now, I'm not sure I'm going to want to use my games for score for a while.

Well, if we're going to do this, we'll need a system. Here's what I propose:

1. We choose a current champion, and every week, you guys enter your best scores for that week.

2. I'll look at your pages to verify the scores, and if:

2a. none of them beat the current champ's score for that week, he keeps his title as Hammerfest Champion

2b. one or more exceeds the champ's score for that week, then the highest scoring person claims the title

3. This system should be open to all players, whether HOF or not.

4. I propose either JoeKickass or Hrainian as our first champion, Joe because he currently holds the #1 spot for Highest Ever Score and he has gotten the Red Bomb, or Hrain because he proposed the idea.

But watching the pages is useless^^ I have reached my personal record of (only) 2.8M points months ago and never come closer to it again than ~2.4M. So the better controlling system is that the champ posts his scores with screenshots and the ones who think they beat him do so too.

Hmm, that would make it a lot easier. So, when should we have the deadlines? Every Sunday evening (server time's evening)? There won't be a champion for this week, but this week's winner will be the 1st Champion of Hammerfest!

I don't think I should be the "starting champion" because my score of 2.7 million is very high for me, and I normally get around 2.2 when I actually try (almost never)

There won't be a champion for this week, but this week's winner will be the 1st Champion of Hammerfest!
