Every online game will sooner or later have to deal with cheaters. That's how it goes.

Unless MT went to a completely server-sided way of doing their games. I mean, if my minor programming knowledge is correct, most of the cheating programs that don't require programming knowledge only work with client-games, right?

If there was a way that the server could keep track of the each game's progress, then the data from the game could be checked against the server's data during the save. If it was found that any of the game's values had been changed by the player, they wouldn't match up with the server's data, the game would be refused the save, and the player would be marked as a cheater.

Does that make any sense?

To whoever posted: yes, it is possible to do that, but it would seriously bog down new game arrivals.
Periodically, the client would send info back to the server about how fast the client's score is going up. If that number increased to a quintuple-digit unless the game's "score under this many points this fast or else" number was increased, the scores would not be taken and the player banned from that game for a week. This makes it take longer because Kado's QA department must then take a closer look at what gives how many points, what a good score would be, etc...

Joe, there is one simple reason why nobody does it that way with their games: traffic. Do you know how much servers you would need to do everything server-sided? Yeah, me neither, but it would be many, MANY servers.

Yes, unfortunately since Flash is a client-based language (such as JavaScript), you can alter it with some "hacks".

Partially, yes. But things can always be done if you know how to do this. However the higher the security, the bigger the problems. I can think of several ways to track if the score is legit (like the game stores all the items you got, right? so the game can calculate the value of those items (plus 65 and 86 , count separately the 1000 and 0 +27 , and also the times you get score from the 70 66 and 73 ) and you will receive the score you should have. Maybe additional 50k for each 89 and x2 if there was a moneybag in the game... ) but this can be altered as well. There are some other ways that would be much secure, but if you lose your connection you may not be able to save at all...

Our world is full of people with low value for themselves, too little self esteem and everything, so they will try to cheat every game they can. The only thing you can do is - DON'T GET ANGRY ABOUT IT! You don't have to suffer because of other people's stupidity.

Does anyone have the names of the people using this to cheat on KadoKado? If they are in a clan, we could launch a harassment campaign and demand that their clan leader drops them.

Even if several people in a clan cheat, that doesn't mean that every member of the clan cheats.

True, but if we were to all attack and deliver a message saying "You have a hacker in your clan, please boot them, and all our attacks will stop." we may be able to elicit a small change... :S
