My question is what exactly does the disguise do? It doesnt protect you, doesnt give you extra points, so what exactly is the purpose of the disguise?

Another thing, do the hats ever appear again?
I love the extra bombs that created.

The disguise does nothing at all, and the hats keep coming

While I'm at it, what does the second hat do?

the yellow hat is a nuisance, stops you from throwing bombs, you have to wait for it to wear off
