I figured out why Cadomax says the order on 72.1 is much easier in Mirror Mode. The apricots on that level are programmed to always start facing left, and in MM that gives you a lot more room/time to bomb a few of them down before they all switch places. (Contrary to what I used to think, some enemies are programmed to always face one way, and some can be either. It depends on the level.)

In PD25, your death is completely unrelated with the death of the button. You can die and still pass the Test. I learned this the other day when I accidentally fell off the center platform and got hit by a Bomb that had landed down in the pit. But since I was almost done with the Test when that happened, it ended shortly after I had respawned, and fortunately none of the Bombs were in a position to hit the button. Little Igor was still able to retrieve his prize, for trying so honourably. :D

Oh yeah, and when I said you should use jumping to your advantage on 25.0 (rather than just walking) ... don't try that in Nightmare Mode. The Bombs are spit far too frequently, and if you jump just once, it's likely you won't have time to get to them all after you land.

If you get a Toober's Bag and then get every 1017 with one of the 81 , you get 100k points instead of 50k! :youpi:

Of course you do :innocent:

If you get 81 on level 53 then since the bottom layer disappears, the 1017 that are supposed to be there fall and go to the top row and you get 150 points for going over those pieces on the top.

A blinking Bombino will not get stunned, it will continue to blink.

When the baby apricots fall from above, they always start out walking at normal speed, even if QUICK has already arrived. (In NM, they obviously start out quick as usual.)

Don't grab 12 or 108 on level 51.7 unless you've unblocked the joystick already. While it will let you skip two particularly annoying levels, you also won't get to enter the secret passage to get the joystick.

I recently downloaded the original Bubble Bobble, and after playing through a few of the levels, it dawned on me that, (on top of the similarities in items, of which I was already aware), many of the levels in BubbleFest look almost identical to levels from the original BB ... MT literally just took these level designs directly from BB ! Not that this is a bad thing .. but .. see for yourself ! :o

www.cadomax.com/mondesparalleles2.php

HF 43.0 = BB 1
HF 43.1 = BB 2
HF 43.2 = BB 3
HF 43.3 = BB 25
HF 43.4 = BB 10
HF 43.5 = close to BB 35
HF 43.6 = no match
HF 43.7 = no match
HF 43.8 = no match

Also of note is that HF 93 is modeled after BB 14.

Another game I played in my childhood, Keen Dreams, also bears striking resemblances to Hammerfest. It takes place in a land called Tuberia, all of the enemies are vegetables, and the final boss is a giant potato named Boobus Tuber. See for yourself:

If you play a bit more (you should!), you can find some more similarities.

Another retro game you might want to look at is Rick Dangerous. (Be aware, though, that it is very cruel for the player, according to the modern standards.) Not nearly as many references as to BB, but still some.

Wow, you're right ! PD51 is designed entirely from this ... I mean, look at the face-blocks ! O_o And they probably got the idea for spike-pairs from here as well.

I'm playing the Flash version ... my high score is currently 8530. :D

I went through a teleporter directly inside a raspberry. The raspberry then exploded, but I didn't die...

You know how a fruit can kill you by jumping into you from below when you have a hammer? If you land directly on top of a fruit when you have a hammer, you die in the same way. >_>

On NM 54, if you have the proper timing, you can get full combo (well, I'm not sure about full .. but I got up to purple) without ever falling down to them. You just have to stand on the very edge of one of the middle ledges, and kick down a whole bunch of bombs in a row. Any Bombino you hit will stay in place. If you timed it right, the last bomb you kicked down should hit all (or most) of them, thus giving you a lot of combo. And even if you don't get the combo, this is still a good technique to use to avoid dying on this level. (Keep in mind you can't get the order this way, because the order is determined by the first bomb that hits them. :) )
