More Item Data

Wouldn't it contribute good data if we inserted all the items we had ever gotten? (Fridge) :o

@Vanilleon: :youpi: Beautiful work ! I have taken the time to explore your site in more depth and can see that you are exceptionally talented. I am impressed (and glad to have some new inspiration, as an aspiring artist and developer myself) :) ... Perhaps you could write a script to automatically add up the total for you if you click a button ? If it isn't too much trouble, that would certainly streamline the process.

@Neko: :idee: I politely advise you to link to Aja's ( ;) ) counter in your first post.

@dawjbns: This data would not be accurate, because there are several items you see but do not pick up, like negative effect items and umbrellas. We want to know the probability of appearance.

So, so sorry for triple post, but this is urgent. Vanilleon, on your counter, the image for Sausage of St. Morgelet is in the wrong place, so the majority of the S's are lined up improperly. (The names agree with the corresponding coeff. numbers, but the images are out of sync, so it is a bit confusing.)

Vanillion, I officially love you.

Nemo, having all the items unlocked doesn't matter one bit. If it worked that way, then I get the impression all items would have an equal chance of appearing and coeff 1s appear most because there are more of them to appear. Well, this is impossible because there are significantly more ceoff 3 items than any other individual category. More than any two added together except for 1+2. XD

@Vanilleon: Ignore my first suggestion. I realized shortly after beginning to use it that it has already been implemented. Even more impressive than I thought :D ... To make up for my oblivion, I supply two veritable suggestions, for the future:

1) An option to check off which families you have available, so that only those items appear and the list is not populated by items you have literally no chance of seeing.

2) A form to submit your final totals automatically, to avoid needlessly filling up this thread. A few basic HTML tags could either send the data directly to Neko or save it so that you can update the running totals each week or so.

@Neko: You're probably right; it is doubtful that they would make the system more complex than a simple ratio. But I must point out that it is possible that the quantity of your items matters. Imagine a system of two coefficients, in which each coef.2 item gets 1 "point of likelihood," and each coef.1 item gets 10 points. Then the likelihood of each item appearing is calculated in relation to the total number of points of all your items. In this example, if you have the same number of each group, the 1's are 10 times more likely to appear than the 2's. But let's say you have twice as many 2's as 1's; then the 1's are only 5 times more likely to appear. Individually, a coef.2 item will always be rarer than a coef.1, but perhaps as the abundance of each group grows, the overall ratio of probability fluctuates.

New data:
Coef. 1: 56
Coef. 2: 40
Coef. 3: 10
Coef. 4: 1

Phew. :timide:

@Neko: Yay! Glad to be service. :D

@Nemo: Oops. I knew that sausage would come back to haunt me. XD I got it out of order once and fixed it, but forgot to upload the revised image. Should be correct now if you refresh.

...Oh good, I had a small :noon: moment when I thought that the automatic total might not be working. Aheh.

Good suggestions! I'm not sure about the email form, since spam bots so often find those things and abuse them. If Neko would prefer that to having people post their totals here, though, I could do that pretty easily.

Hiding unavailable item families would be great! Right now all the item icons are attached to each other as one large image per letter (since loading hundreds of gifs takes a surprisingly long time, even when they're tiny). It would take some doing to make them appear separate for purposes of selectively hiding some of them, but it's possible. (Constrained divs + relative positioning + hidden overflow FTW.) I don't know how soon I can do it, but that sounds like the best change to implement next.

And thank you kindly for the compliments on the site. :) It's nice to meet another artist here!

Omigod. you could make it take in the data automatically? That would be AMAZING. But there should be a submit button rather than just collecing everything that ever happens... I was messing with it a bit ago...

OH YEAH.

The site says 15 is coeff 3. it is coeff 4.

If you think that calculations won't be accurate because we can't get any item yet, it's not that. Who cares if you get 10 BoS or 1 of each coeff 5? It still be coeff 5 :)

unixasas: I think that every item has is own chance of appearing. So if you can get 10 different coeff 5s, getting one of them will be less likely to happen than if you can get 20 different ones.

Vanilleon: I love you too :) No more pausing the video avery two levels xD (Had to do this because I don't know all the coeffs by heart)

Neko (a long time ago): Yes, it is recorded. And, as I said, there are more to come ;)
