What are some times, places, or items that just seem to smack you in the face?

Well, I always have a bad time with level 2... I always get the first item on the right as a attack item, so I have to run over to the left and grab that item then pray I have enough time to run over to the attack item...
Barely missed a Wizards Hat.

I always get a when I already killed the wrong Fruit.

Today alone: on 54.4 under a pile of 33 enemies on a 2x1 ledge, and in the middle of Pandora's Box. WRYYYYY

. This. Thing. Appears. Everywhere. I swear, it has a huge crush on me or something. My stalker, everywhere I am it shows up. D: I think I've gotten it at least once on all the levels from 2 - 72. Every time, it's like I can hear it laughing. D: It's saying HAHA Neko! HAHA at you! you thought you might get a nice items didn't you, well, TOO BAD! HAHAHA! And it always appears alongside useless coeff 1 effect items. Always always always. D:

Here's a new one: on Level 91.

The really sad thing is that I beat all the fruits without dying after picking it up, and then tripped into a spike on the way to collect the big crystal. XD

I hate that !! It is always a toss-up what to do ... although recently, I've adopted a "lives over points" philosophy and always grab the ...

Every once in a while, I'll zone out, and when I come to level 2 or 3, my subconscious will say "Hey look, a cherry. I should kill it." Or on a later level, I'll lob bombs at a few of the enemies and accidentally kill them all at once. Either way, I get no items. Does this ever happen to you ??

Sort of unrelated: Whenever a level-ending item appears, I always stick around to wait and see what the point item is. Today, I was standing right next to a , and the point item ended up being a Squished Sausage on the other side of the screen. Ideally, I'd pick the Sausage, since I haven't unblocked it, and I wasn't going for points. But at the time, for some reason, my fingers thought it'd be wiser to grab the ...

Ah, the zoning out thing I do quite often on the earlier levels. XD I'll just destroy all the enemies SUPERFAST without thinking, and only when the opportunity to get easy items is gone do I realize what I have done.

And I've started to think that when an item like or appears, it's best to decide whether you are going to take it or not before the point item appears, because I'm afraid one day I'll be standing next to a and looking at the point item spot when a coeff 5 appears, but my hands say "UMBRELLA!" instead.

I was on level 51 and just as i was about to kill the last fruit, a mailbox appeared, right on the PD 51 door, which was unlocked. I tried to jump over the door, but it turnes out that i didn't do something enough and fell in. I lost all of my lives in there because of the invisable spikes

Aww. Sorry to hear it, dude. Nothing worse than getting sucked into a super-tough dimension by accident.

If that happens in the future, remember that PD51 is one of the few PDs where you can actually walk right out through the door again. You don't have to go through it if you don't want to.

If that happens in the future, remember that PD51 is one of the few PDs where you can actually walk right out through the door again.
I do that all the time on PD3, just to get the 10,000 points from the . (To go out again, you need to wait about 5 seconds after the first "QUICK!")

As bad as I am, compared to most of you, I'm sometimes afraid I'll need those points just to get the score required for the first extra life.

@CarrotSticks: I agree with you about the in the first levels. (But for me, most are red, and just a few are blue.)
