Does anyone else here play Kingdom, one of Motion Twin's other games? Figure we could talk about it here, if anyone's interested...techniques, strategies, etc.

I play it but since I don't know french I'm not too good at it. I don't like the fact that you play you play you play and you die. There is no 'winning' in this game. You can't beat another player, just make him your slave. The recources are too few... stuff like that.

I play Kingdom and I don't know French either. However, Google Translator makes most of it English, the rest I can figure out myself.

I wouldn't say i'm good at it, but i'm getting along nicely now.

Only tips I would give right now are get lots of farmers at first and a Granary (Grenier) to keep food stocks so you can concentrate on other things afterwards.

I'm one person away from having 40 workers in my kingdom, although the three jackals surrounding me decided to send everything they had at me, at once, with no warning, when I had attacked none of them. They didn't even respond to the mails I sent them, even though they were in English AND French. So hooray for pacifism and honour in battle and all that.

Does it matter which server you join?

There is only one Muxxu server: the French one. If you're referring to the different "lands" you can join, the only difference is the number of players and the arrangement of the terrain, which will make little to no difference on gameplay. :)

Sorry to hear about that, Joe. I got attacked fairly mercilessly at a few points as well; it seems some people only care about winning. :P When I messaged my first suzerain, though, he at least responded kindly and told me how to make the best of it. :D

Well, 10 of my workers are recruiters, so 6 turns later, I had a nice 72-man army (I upgraded my whatever-they're-called buildings for an army bonus) and I sent it right back at the ringleader of the three. Hopefully he won't have enough to defend my attack. *crosses fingers*

KIND of...think of a "match 3" game, but whatever you match builds your kingdom. Wood, wheat, and gold gives you building materials, food, and money for your kingdom, people give workers, swords give soldiers.

A certain amount of wood or gold or food or a combination is needed to build/upgrade certain buildings, and each building takes a number of hammers to build. Hammers are another thing you can match three of, to complete your buildings.

There's a map, with places on it connected by lines. You build your kingdom, send out your soldiers along the lines, and attack/conquer other places on the map. You try and expand to have the biggest kingdom on the map. As time goes by, you receive turns that allow you to make more moves on the match-three screen so you can build your kingdom up some more.

Neat idea - I'm surprized there aren't more "match three to get resources for building" games out there. It's a nice twist.

I'm thinking of starting soon... :?

Is there any way to choose which world to join outside of the 3 they give you?

Also, should we all form one huge Hammerfest Alliance? :P

Not that I know of...the reason is that as kings grow old and die, their spots on the map become brand new kingdoms that new players come in and fill. You're SORT of at a disadvantage since you're playing with already-started players, but then again, they'll die off before you, and then YOU'll be the old kingdoms when new players come in to take THEIR spot.

While it would be cool for everyone here to sign up and get placed on the same map, I honestly don't think you have any choice. Maybe refreshing that page, and seeing if any of the map numbers change?
