Depends on if you're speaking British English or American English. Football in Europe is the same as Soccer. Also tall buildings start with 1st floor, while in America 1st floor is when you climb up one floor up...

Not always. ;) (I live in the USA, and I know of several tall buildings that you enter on the 1st floor. Tall buildings on hills usually have their front door on the 1st floor, and their back door on the basement.)

@Zax: Actually here in germany buildings start with the "Erdgeschoss" (Ground floor) and 1st floor is if you climb one up. :innocent: But football is football (Fußball)! :D

:lol: Also, I forgot to mention, some tall buildings have the front door on the ground floor, and 1 floor up is the 2nd floor.

Did you know that sometimes 1 floor above the 12th floor is the 14th floor?

in the netherlands we say, ground floor (or begane grond, in our languich) than 1st floor, 2st floor etc..
