- There's always the chance that PD25 will result in 0 points, 1 death. (Impudent spacebar, why won't you obey me?)
- You'll find more letter bubbles in PD26, so it's possible for you to gain lives overall (or at least break even).
"Lives Before Points" is my motto for this game (and it can be a tough call when, for example, you've just killed 5 out of 6 enemies in order, and the final letter of CRISTAL appears in front of you). In the end, you can't get more points when you're dead! If you play by that philosophy, PD26 might be the smarter choice.
...But despite all that, I go into PD25 every time. PD26 irritates me for some reason. PD25 is faster either way, and at least you can't lose any more than one life there. That, and it's just plain satisfying to kick the pear-bombs around and collect a boatload of points all at once.
