1. No magic. I like impossible things, like a cloak to make the wearer invisible, or chemical healing potions, but witches, wizards, angels and demons are a NO.

This is what I like the most :(

Tell a story!

There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils.(/demons) One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe and feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist and magician with the same delight.
- C.S. Lewis

I'm sorry, but I agree with C.S. Lewis on this one. And very few people can really do angels justice. Bryan Davis, author of the Dragons in our Midst series, is one of them. Unless you are biased against Christians, I think you'd really enjoy them.
But the rule stands.
May I remind you that kids play Hfest too, and they are just 3 clicks away.

According to your reasons kids shouldn't play hfest because of items like 1212 1220 1081 or just PD named 'Hell'.

In my opinion we just shouldn't use vulgarisms, obscenity etc.. But it is your choice.

Okay, I'll put those in as soon as I can fix it. :timide: And the rules aren't absolute. They are more like basic guidelines, to be coupled with the common sense of the poster. I'm just trying to keep arguments (like this, but worse) from occurring. Also, I'm trying to avoid using demonic powers in the story.

What story? ^^
And I don't entirely agree with Mr. Lewis. There are supernatural powers that can be classified as angels, demons, God, etc. But people believe they are weak and they find escape from reality by saying "the devil/demon made me do it". Instead of taking respoinsibility for his/her actions and try to be e better person. People are capable of achieving everything if they put their mind into it.

Look in the AQH thread, and you'll see what happened.

As to this, before you begin to defend an idea or belief, decide whether or not it is a shammer's idea.
I was raised going to a Christian church, and I can tell you that a real Christian will tell you this.
Someone I know was taking a collage course in religion, and the professor..."Christians believe that if you repent of your sins and follow Jesus, you what?" Class answered "Go to Heaven." "And if you reject this, you..." Most of the class answered "Don't go to Heaven", while the real Christian said "Go to Hell." Everyone kind of looked at him with amusement, shock, or annoyance. "Oh come on, don't sugar coat it, people." A shammer christian will say, "Oh, everyone goes to heaven if they are a good person. Of course, Adolf Hitler and Attila the Hun will go somewhere else."
I saw a 'real' witch being interviewed once. She was a good actor, or she had no idea what she was doing. Witchcraft, sorcery, dark magic, all are demonically connected. Have you ever seen the Disney movie 'The Princess and the Frog'? THAT was a classic witch doctor. Disney just called the demons his 'friends on the other side'. Waayyyy on the other side.
Don't defend anything you don't have absolute confidence in. Wait, strike that. Don't defend anything you can't prove.

And magic as in the natural abilities a fictitious character has, go for it! But incantations and blood offerings and such are not cool.

I was in a huge rush when I wrote that, and only now do I realize what a horrific job I did trying to make my point. Wow, does that sound dumb, reading it now. So, I'll try again.

What I meant to say was that supernatural forces are indeed very real. And very separate. And people fear them. Most avoid acknowledging the topic. However, the Arabian Nights mentions demons all the time. It's funny, the English translations translate Allah into God, but leave the demons as djinn, genies, or jinn. But that's beside the point. Arabian Nights talk about them as a class, but each is an individual being. (Not a faceless force of nature. And neither are angels, for that matter.) However, all of them can be summoned with magic. All of them are enslaved (or attached to something, like Aladdin's lamp and ring), and all of them hate humans. Hence, evil, demonic witchcraft.
In the Green Lantern, a modern superhero, the Will of every sentient creature is his power, channeled through his ring. It can generate anything he can imagine, but Will is what gives it mass, for as long as he concentrates on keeping it intact. Then it dissolves into nothing. Fear is another, more powerful source, highly unstable, unmanageable, and corrupts anything and anyone it comes into contact with. There is good and evil, and there is no middle ground. Inaction is evil, because fear to act against evil and doing nothing is the same as giving permission for it to continue, and it will grow stronger.
However, nobody really wants to know this and be obligated to do anything. So, they convince themselves of lies they make up. 'That only happens in books.' 'Not my problem, not my fight.' 'I don't see any of that happening around here, so what do you expect? I give to charities already! Are you saying I'm not good enough?!?' ect. Failing that, they dilute the substances that create the issues. 'Am I going to Heaven or Hell?' is a big one. The usual lies? 'There is nothing after death. I'll be gone, in a dreamless, never ending sleep.' 'Everyone gets to heaven sometime, unless they're really bad.' 'All religions are different roads to the same place. Heaven.' 'There is no god but yourself.' 'Witchcraft has been totally misunderstood.' 'Nothing is completely evil, just like no one is completely good.' There sure is!
I reiterate; There is good and evil, and there is no middle ground. Anyone who tells you that has been lied to, and is passing the lie on.

This means that, for example (as if I haven't given enough already), a half-demon, half-angel could not and does not exist. It is just not possible, as each one would be repulsed by the other.

Therefore, I do not want conflicting beliefs and ideas messing up the storyline.
Did that make any sense, or have I wasted my time?

You haven't wasted your time. I enjoy having such discussions a lot. I'm a Libra and as a real Libra I search for truth. And I also have different points of view in almost every topic, so when you choose one side - I choose the other one (and by arguing I am trying to show you that the coin has a different side. Unfortunately this is often confused as trying to force my opinion.). So I want to ask you this.
If a person has a pure heart and does very good things (helping others and asking for nothing in return; lifts up the spirit of people by making them smile and showing them the happiness of life; be a support to people in need, etc), but sometimes can't stand others that totally piss him off and he acts violently towards them... is that person 'only good' or 'only evil'? As you say there is no middle class.

About God...

I don't like using the term 'supernatural' any more. The energies (good or bad, taking matterless (non-physical) form) are part of the nature. They are just not visible to us, because we tend to only 'see' with our eyes. This energy, often called God, is not visible to us, but it's there. It makes everything on Earth grow (hair, nails, trees, plants, animals, fishes; it makes all the atoms of an object to be connected to one another and form that object; it makes different laws (like the Law of Attraction) work. It doesn't matter how you call it (God, Universal mind, Cosmic energy) - it IS there.
People say "I don't see it, so I don't believe in it". I love to make a comparison with electricity - you don't see it, but it is there. "But you see the result of it - the light bulb emits light, the PC is on, the elevator is moving...". Yes, you do. But you won't see the result of it if you don't have the electricity in the first place. Imagine this... a guy comes and tells you "we're gonna come here, place those giant sticks in the ground, put some cables from one to another and after that when you flip a switch there will be light all over the house. And also we can give you that small device, that looks like a shiny rock that has buttons on it and when you press them you can talk to people all over the world. And also we will give you another one that when you press the buttons you will be able to watch people and pictures moving in a small square box. And also there are these giant birds made of metal, that you can go into and fly to the other side of the world"... now imagine this happening in ancient Egypt, when the Pyramids were built. Do you think anyone would believe that? People will be like "Oookay, where's that electricity you're talking about? I don't see it! So it doesn't exist." Same thing with God - if you don't believe in it (him), you won't have it with you and you won't have the benefits of a great life.

As someone who searches for the truth, therefore asking tons of questions and learning a lot of things - I found out one thing that I believe is very true. God, the energy that there is, is very different from God that is figured by Christians. And there are a lot of Christians that are following the rules. That are helpful and peaceful. They are praying a lot and going to Church regularly. And they still have a lot of problems and wonder why God punishes and tests them. The reason is because of bad understanding of God and his 'rules'.

Does anyone want me to talk more about this stuff? :)

Yes. :D
The god you believe exists is a Force. A faceless...Thing, and it is like the oxygen and carbon dioxide. It exists, and we need it to survive even though we can't see it. So, let me ask you this. How does it intervene in/influence our lives? Why do we care? It's just THERE. Why are people afraid to admit it exists at all?
I will never take offense at your opinion/belief, provided you don't insult me or my beliefs intentionally. I'm curious.
And there very, very few real followers of Christ. To be a true Christan, you can't just follow the rules. Anyone can do that. Or at least try to. There's a quote from a non-Christan (whose names escapes me, despite help from the Internet, which has not the quote because I can't recall the exact wording) and it was something like this.
"The Bible should be taught in school. Not for it's religion, but for it's good morals and (what I have found to be) accurate history."
