@Vanilleon: I think the fps rate only has an effect on the Golden Igor on 51.8 (it has to be below 30, I believe, for it to appear). At least, that is the only one I've heard. It has no impact on ordinary items, unless maybe if it is perilously low. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

1) I was wrong, CRISTAL *does* make the saw-blades disappear. As do 's.

2) Not really a discovery, just amusing ... If you get a on level 23.1, there are only five gems, because there are only five places you can stand.

3) If you are dying when there are shards on the screen, when you respawn they will have disappeared. It is rare that this will happen, because once the shards appear, nothing can kill you but the fireball (and I think the shards will disappear before he arrives). It can only happen if you get hit and pick up the pearl at the same time, because then the shards will start appearing before you fall to the bottom of the screen and "complete" your death. Or perhaps you can get hit by a seed/fire/etc. after you pick it up ? Not sure if pearls destroy ammo ...

After you pick a pearl you can still die of seeds, shots, bombs, etc. When you respawn the will disappear. However those who haven't appeared yet will continue appearing. I don't know if you will get the 50k if you get them all.

A small but noteworthy discovery: If you see an umbrella on this level, don't take it.

It'll drop you into the one and only inescapable spike pit on the next level.

Unrelatedly, would anyone be interested in a "Tips and Tricks" topic, for listing clever/unusual (or just not-so-obvious) strategies for clearing certain levels?

For example, I just saw a video of someone luring all six apricots on 96 into the middle platform, killing them, then doing the same with all twelve miniatures for massive points. It looks very simple, but I never would have thought of how to do it. (Apparently you just hop down onto one of the short ledges under the top platform, and any apricots above you will drop down into the middle. Who would have guessed?)

...Or, is that sort of thing close enough to a Small Discovery that we should keep it in this topic?

I think a Help and Tips thread would be nice. :]

@Vanilleon: Imho, strategies fit well enough under this topic. (If not, JonSM can revise the thread name to include them.) I just think that we have a pageful of almost-always-active threads already, and we should try not to create too many more.
