You get a crystal if a frozen enemy is killed by an item, but it depends on the number of the fruits dead. If you kill 3 and the 4th is only frozen and it dies because of the etc. you will get one yellow crystal.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but getting the snail on Nightmare mode slows down the fireball as well as the enemies.

I've noticed a few references to that Hare + Guu anime. Like the silly dance that Igor does when idling for a while and the doll thing that you have to get in order to complete the Guu's Mystery quest (If you look closely you see that it resembles Guu).

It looks like the developers enjoy that show.
