Theoretically I know how to beat 54.7 I only need practice.
I have beaten 54.8 without an item exactly once up to now, losing 3 lives -.- Incredible level, but 54.6 is similar. (If you kill yourself directly, you should be quick enough, but the protective shield does not always last long enough)

If you move as fast as possible the shield lasts long enough to make the last jump. If you die the last second between jumping and reaching the item... sorry .

I've beaten 54.8 only several times without losing any lives (also without item/letters) and one of those times it was on Nightmare mode. It's fun

@daw: It sounds like Josh wants to be able to press only the left arrow key and have it process as "left" and "A" ... which, the way I understand it, is the opposite of what you said.

@Josh: Brilliant idea. I believe I have heard of several players being able to control both characters at once ... but I suppose you'd have to be very focused and attentive to do that. This would be the next best thing, when you don't have a friend around. Let me know if it works.

It's hard to say, Neko ... The required score has historically been in the 1.8's, but yours is on the lower end of the spectrum (last week it was 1.86-something). While it is possible, I'd say you should keep trying (keeping in mind that there are still five days left, and you're already in sixth place). As for me, I just need to alleviate distractions and stop making so many stupid mistakes ... I know I can do it, because I've gotten 1.8 before, and that was before I started doing PD's 26 & 55 and learned how to get order on 54. 54 and PD55 together are a major score-booster.

ok today i was on level 101 and ithere was tuber, but i didn´t know how to beat ihn and lost all my 4 lives
