Item Theory

Is it possible that the coeff of the items you find in-game is linked to something the player can do something about?

I.E.: Could it be affected by what disguise you use, how many games/levels you've played since the last coeff5/6 you saw, what mode(s) you're playing the game in, what your average score is, etc.?

I was thinking about this the other day. Because I mean, coeff 5's and 6's are certainly rare, but I wonder if Motiontwin built into the game anything the player can do to increase the chances of one showing up?

Not sure about this, but I know that when the blob (coeff 6) appeared for me, I was wearing the beard you get from the Mad Hatter quest.

Not saying that the beard helped, just putting out a data point for you to use. ;)

You will never find out... I don't think it is true - it is only a dream of being able to have a bit more control. But even if it was true - you would need hundreds of coeff.6s to make a statistically useful statement. Have fun ;)

How do we even know about the coeff tier system? Was it released by motiontwin or pieced together by players? Because I am fairly sure it has been proven that if you have seen an item once in a game, it is more likely to appear in that/subsequent games. This makes me think that the chances of getting any certain coeff. 3 item does not necessarily equal the chances of getting a different coeff. 3 item.

Over a long time the chances are all the same... So you "only" have to count^^

I want to know what "coeff.x" really means (in numbers), so I am currently counting the items... Started about a month ago listing all my items outside the page; in a few months I will do this again and compare the numbers...
But this list only contains the items I really use - no cards, no mushrooms, no 18 9 93 91 and so on... It's not perfect, but I hope to see something when it is finished...

Well, I mean just look at your fridge's numbers for the big jewels...

I know I have a lot more 1009 than 1010 , and a lot more 1010 than 1011 . I think they're all different coeffs.

I've had a theory, like what could affect the item appearance:

the date/exact time of day you start the game
the game mode (for real, i think better items appear on harder modes)
whether you pick up the coin at lev 0
whether you go to the 0. parallel
whether you pick up the crystals (and the amount, maybe you only need certain crystals) at level 1
what is your score when you get to lev 2
etc etc

I've thought about time of day before, simply because I often start 5 or 6 games at once, because I don't have a connection at my house, so I just pause them all and play them when I get back. But when I do that, I find I come across the same coeff.3/4 items, which makes me think that the item randomizer is tied to when the game is started in some way.

I don't think picking up the coin in level 0 or any other items affect what further items you get. The time (and maybe the day) on the other hand have an impact I think. I remember playing a game some days ago where I got items I haven't seen for a long time nearly every 5th level. A day later I didn't encounter any of these items. Now if I only had written down the time I started to play. I think I will do that from now on.

Sometimes it seems that I find the same rare objects on the same levels :innocent:
