When you get a on item 59, you don't get crystals there. It's already ended, that's the key. I can't tell you why they appeared before the strawberries were killed.

Theoretically, you are right, 30191. This is how it always works. But on 59/60, we have mixed accounts. I have gotten all three fish on 59 and they waited until the end of 60, whereas when Neko and dovyduksxl got them, they came at the start of 60. What makes it even more difficult to track is that this is a totally unique situation, which occurs nowhere else in the game: a level with no enemies, before a boss.

It would be nice to have data from other x9 levels ... if you get a fish on an x9 level, try beating the level as quickly as possible so you can grab it afterward, though this may be incredibly difficult on some.

I am also interested to know what would happen on 51.10 ... I think this is the only other level in the game with an effect item and no enemies. Am I wrong ?

I got fish on 51.10 and the crystals didn't fall on 51.11. They did on 52. I have experienced both things at lvl 60 - having the crystals when I get into the level and after I beat it.

Zax, can you think of any distinguishing factor that would have influenced this result ? I know this isn't really important anyway, but I'm so curious now. I want to figure out what's causing it. You know ?

Comparison:

kills all enemies at once, so you are less likely to die in the process.
is more common.
takes longer, thus allowing time for the point item to appear.
works on apricots !! The delay between each kill is long enough for the apricots to appear on the screen ... unless maybe there is only one big apricot, and it is the last to kill. I haven't had a chance to test this yet.

The last is my most recent discovery, so I decided to see how it fits into the grand scheme of things. Before this, I had always thought pwns , and I wondered why is more common. But now I see that does have its merits.

p.s. Do they work on unpeeled lychees ? Any other item that tries to instantly kill a lychee just stuns it. I wonder what would happen ...
