On level 72.4 today, I grabbed a
, and was hit by a squirt of lemon juice shortly afterward ... so I managed to discern how it works. When you re-spawn, all the gemstones that have already appeared are destroyed, and the remainder appear as normal, so you end up with the bottom half of the screen filled up. When this happens, the gemstones never disappear, and if you collect them all, there is no bonus.
I also discovered that Igor's spawn-point on 72.4 is on the one-block tower directly to the right of the inevitable-death pit. (
Image) So @Vanilleon, you probably just pressed left without noticing and fell in. (Incidentally, I fell in too, but since
had destroyed all the spikes, I had to wait around for the fireball to sweep me away.)
